December Charity Partner: Tackle Kids Cancer

What is Tackle Kids Cancer?

Tackle Kids Cancer is a grassroots movement started in 2015 to raise funds for pediatric cancer research and patient care programs. Proceeds gathered by TKC fund research and care at Hackensack Meridian Children’s Health and its affiliated branches.

As part of its mission to discover a cure, TKC funds the work of scientists and researchers at Hackensack Meridian Health’s Center for Discovery and Innovation. TKC’s funding supports clinical trials and programs targeting patients and their families while going beyond cancer treatment. 

Its Cure and Beyond program supports survivors through the health, emotional, and social issues that affect them after treatment.

How Can You Help?

Donate

Donations are a simple way to support Tackle Kids Cancer directly. Your donations help fund pediatric cancer research, clinical care, and survivorship support services. You can give a one-time donation or set up a recurring account to donate a set amount each month.

Take Eli’s Challenge

In 2015, Tackle Kids Cancer partnered with Eli Manning and the New York Giants to help raise funds for cancer patients and their families. Manning started Eli’s Challenge, a campaign encouraging and supporting grassroots group fundraisers. The #TeamTKC captain pledges to match donations of up to $200,000 yearly.

Funds can come from bake sales, charity football games, car washes, and other fun activities. You can even set up your own fundraising page to rally for someone fighting cancer or in memory of a loved one. If you can’t kickstart a fundraiser but still want to help, you can donate directly to other fundraisers and teams.

Become a Team Captain

In addition to starting a fundraiser, you can become a team captain to take on Eli’s Challenge. As a team captain, you’ll build a team and rally to gather funds for TKC’s work. Invite your family, friends, coworkers, and classmates to donate and join your team.

Run for Tackle Kids Cancer

Join #TeamTKC and run on behalf of TKC. Running for TKC is a great way to support their cause and spread awareness while challenging yourself to accomplish an incredible feat.

TKC partners with prestigious races in the surrounding area, including the 2025 TCS NYC Marathon. Email giving@hmhn.org to join the TKC team or learn about additional race opportunities.
