November Charity Partner: Beyond Type 1

Casely has partnered with Beyond Type 1 this November as part of our #EveryCaseCounts initiative. Learn about the nonprofit below and why we’re excited to work with them.

What is Beyond Type 1?

Beyond Type 1 is a nonprofit organization dedicated to education and advocacy surrounding diabetes. Through its programs and resources, the nonprofit unites the diabetes community and provides solutions to improve lives. 

With community support, Beyond Type 1 has been able to fund research toward a type 1 diabetes cure.

Beyond Type 1 houses many programs for people to connect and support each other. The Beyond Type 1 app is an online community for those with diabetes to connect directly, Beyond Type Run brings together people living with diabetes through marathons, and Community Table holds conversations about issues faced by the community.

How Can You Help?

Donate

Your donation helps to fund education, advocacy, and efforts to cure type 1 diabetes. You can give a one-time donation or set up a monthly, quarterly, or yearly account for recurring donations.

Attend an Event

Beyond Type 1 hosts events for anyone who wishes to get involved in person. Join a fundraiser to raise money and awareness, or attend a casual hangout for fun. The nonprofit offers opportunities to connect with people advocating for a shared cause.

Host an Event

Don’t see an event in your area? Host your own. Consider organizing a fundraiser to collect donations and raise awareness of the organization’s efforts. Host a sporting event, set up a lemonade stand, provide a carwash service, etc.

Hosting a meet-up is another way to get your community involved in Beyond Type 1. These events can be as formal or casual as you’d like. Organize a flash mob, go on a hike, or have brunch. Visit the nonprofit’s meet-up page for ideas and free invite flyers.

Become a #SeeTheSigns Ambassador

#SeeTheSigns is a campaign spreading awareness of diabetes warning signs. Diabetes diagnoses are often missed. Knowing the warning signs of diabetes can save your life, and becoming an ambassador can help save others. Sign up and receive a toolkit to assist in your community outreach.

Submit to the #LiveBeyond Campaign

The #LiveBeyond campaign features stories of those with type 1 diabetes. If you wish to share your story, submit it for a chance to be featured on their Instagram. Your story can help inspire others and garner support for those with diabetes.
